Our Journey
Founded in 2012, Kabwe College of Health Sciences (KCHS) was established to meet Zambia’s growing demand for trained healthcare professionals. The college began with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine — its flagship program — and was accredited by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) in the same year.
The first cohort of students graduated in 2014, marking a significant achievement in the institution’s young history. Since then, the college has celebrated the graduation of over 1,000 students, many of whom now serve in both urban and rural health facilities across Zambia.
To broaden its impact and academic offering, KCHS introduced the Environmental Health diploma program in 2022, reinforcing its commitment to advancing public and environmental health.
While Registered Nursing is currently offered through its sister institution, Agape Nursing College (established in 2008), both colleges are guided by a shared vision and leadership, ensuring consistent quality in training and student support.
In 2023, KCHS earned additional recognition from the Higher Education Authority (HEA), affirming its commitment to high standards in tertiary education delivery.
Strategic partnerships with the University of Zambia (since 2015), Kabwe Central Hospital, Kabwe Mine General Hospital, Kapiri General Hospital, and the Ministry of Health have strengthened the college’s clinical training, research, and graduate employability.
In 2025, KCHS initiated its digital transformation by launching an online application portal, streamlining the admissions process, and expanding access to prospective students nationwide.
As the institution continues to grow, its founding mission remains to equip healthcare professionals who are technically skilled, ethically grounded, and community-focused.
